More Frequently Asked questions!

How often do I feed my new puppy?

Your puppy will be ready for his or her new home at about 6 to 7 weeks of age. He or she is used to eating 3 times a day. Set a schedule that works for you to feed him or her 3 times a day and that will decrease to 2 times a day as they grow and get older{about 4 month of age. }. Keep fresh water in a clean bowl at all times.

What food should I feed my puppy?

We feed kent puppy prime & iams puppy food. You can find their website listed on my links page. It is imporant to a puppy formula of GOOD quality for the first year . Then change to a adult formula.

How do I potty train my new puppy?

I have found that 10 minutes after the puppies eat they will need to go outside to potty. It is best to pick a location that you would like your puppy to use as his or her spot. Take him or her location each time. Reward them with alot of attention and a treat. Puppies will need to go potty after a nap, after eating , and before bed.

What does crate training mean?

Crate training is a method used in helping potty train your puppy. I have crate trained all my dogs. The puppies crate should not be too big, give them only enough room to sleep and lay down in. Puppies do not like to go potty in the place they sleep in. When you take them out of the crate, head straight to the potty place outside. If you are not at home puppy should be placed in crate at all times, until he or she is completly trained. This may take 8 to 12 month to do. This will help him with potty training but also keep him or her safe. This method do work. We have used it with great success.
